Lutz Morris is a line of luxury handbags based on founder Tina Lutz’ career-long dedication to artisanship, responsible production and altruism. After decades of working outside her native Germany, Tina reconnected with her roots in an effort to create a timeless product while supporting a slowly disappearing trade of German family businesses specializing in beautifully handcrafted leather goods.
‘In a time when fashion is fast and just a click away, I wanted to create something that brought back centuries-old, family run businesses and the craft and attention they invest in every single piece. This collection is for the woman who doesn’t want everything. She wants a few of the right things, made consciously and with purpose. She is looking for a connection with the things she chooses to bring into her life.’
The focus throughout the design and production process is on quality and integrity. Attention is given to local sourcing of every component and personal relationships with the suppliers. German-tanned leather, gold-plated hardware, hand linked chains, custom trims and handmade packaging are all produced under strict environmental regulations and within close proximity to the factory.
For every bag sold, $10 is donated to Every Mother Counts, a non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother everywhere.
Tina is the co-founder of the New York fashion brand Lutz & Patmos and has been a creative director for numerous other brands over her storied career. She has been a member of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) since 2006 and a member of their Sustainability Committee, New Member Committee, and Education Committee.
